Andy

The paintings and installations of Andy Fung are equally indebted to SF illustrations, Graffiti and neo-psychedelic pop culture. The minuteness, sense of planning and orientation within two-dimensional painting space enable the artist to precisely show an infinitesimal world that dartingly develops from two dimensions into a complex illusion of symbolic multidimensional space. It is a realm of expanded states of consciousness.

Jan

Jan Williams’ paintings are responses to architectural spaces, with a focus on memory and identity. Painted by layering tinted lime wash on board, marks are left by the rubbing away of the lime-wash layers. Williams’ choice of lime-wash is significant, a memory from her childhood of the annual lime-washing of the cowsheds and buildings on the family farm.

This continuous paint/erase method creates surfaces that are alive to the play, not only of chance, but that of editing and choice. The initially minimal paintings slowly reveal a complex tension between surface and depth that creates a space for haunting, half remembered transitional spaces.

Barrie

Barrie J Davies is an artist. He was born in Wales and is currently based in Cardiff. Davies has been a practicing artist for over fifteen years and has had over eighteen solo exhibitions, as well as over hundred & fifty group exhibitions worldwide. His artwork is owned by well known comedian Noel Fielding and has also featured in the second series of Channel 4 Comedy “Raised by Wolves” written by Caitlin Moran. In paint he uses a provocative, colourful psychedelic and humourous approach to expose the human condition: notions of success, money, glamour, love, death, sex, gender & religion are picked at with dry comedic use of tragedy meshed with absurdity.
